A communications consultant with a specialty in emergency communications utilizing effective traditional and social media tools during emergency situations, and media relations. Barry Radford & Associates have worked with the Association of Fire Chiefs of Canada to advance crisis and emergency communications practices on the Partners towards Safer Communities (PTSC-Online) website.
Currently developing as a Volunteer Operations Lead with the Canadian Red Cross Disaster Management for the Muskoka-West Parry Sound area in Ontario.
A guest lecturer on emergency communications at:
- Canadian Emergency Management College, Ottawa
- Ryerson University, Toronto
A former senior communications adviser for the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources responsible for strategic communications planning for Fish & Wildlife, Enforcement, Great Lakes Management Units, Water Resources, and Aviation, Forest Fire and Emergency Services.
- G8/G20 Provincial Media Spokesperson for the Ministry of Natural Resources (June 2010).
- Deployed as a Fire Information Officer to British Columbia wildfires (September 2009).
