No, there is not a typographical error in the title! We so frequently hear just the opposite to what the title reads because there are many worthwhile emergency management projects that are not undertaken due to lack of required funds. PTSC-Online has just the opposite challenge. Read on to see how you can help and the project may help you.
PTSC-Online is a virtual on-line community with a focus on emergency management, business continuity and critical infrastructure program development and operation. It exists to provide collaborative work tools (blogs, discussion forums and wiki - knowledge bases) to help Canadian emergency managers and business continuity professionals more effectively do their jobs, thereby improving Canadian communities and business level of preparedness and resiliency to withstand and recover from an emergency.
As an incentive to encourage emergency management professionals to join PTSC-Online and to use its collaborative work tools we have budgeted to complete an emergency management project. We want to use our on line community to identify and work an emergency management related project and PTSC-Online's financing includes a budget to complete one or more emergency management related project(s) before March 31, 2011. The purpose of undertaking this project is to demonstrate how a virtual on line community can work effectively to collaborate and benefit emergency management. To qualify the project should be of general benefit to emergency management and business continuity in Canada. The selection of a project will involve interaction on the discussion forum which is open to all PTSC-Online members and the PTSC-Online Steering Committee.
