Risk Management and Communications

As a newcomer to PTSC-online I'd like to introduce members to a new series of postings on my professional blog at http://beaumontcomm.blogspot.com This series will deal with topics that should be of interest to professionals in public safety and security wherever they are.  Called "Risky Business", the series will range from the theoretical to the practical.   Although I spent a decade as a daily newspaper reporter early in my career covering emergencies and events at the community level, my line of work for the past 20 years or more has been mostly at the national and the interprovincial level.  So if you find my focus and opinions isn't doing it for you after a while, challenge me with your own points of view.  That way we can develop a discussion that is relevant to a broad cross-section of people.  The organizers of PTSC-online have produced an unique clearing house for information that we can all use to do our jobs and manage our careers.  My task will be to stimulate, moderate and occasionally provoke an engaging exchange among folks who share an interest in the safety and security of their communities.  Why not check out my BeauBlog via the link above to see how I intend to go about it.  And by all means prod me with ideas for how to make it work for you.
