- Richard Kinchlea joined the Canadian Centre for Emergency Preparedness (CCEP) as Director of Operations in 2010 where he provides emergency management and business continuity support for CCEP’s research and advocacy activities in these areas. He also oversees the content and operation of the Small Business Contingency Planning Program, B-ReadyNow.Prior to joining the CCEP, Richard spent over 7 years as one of two Emergency Management Coordinators for the City of Hamilton and was Hamilton’s designated Community Emergency Management Coordinator. Until 2011, Richard had served 8 years as a Director on the Board of the Ontario Association of Emergency Managers, having served as President, Vice President and two terms as Secretary.
- Paula-Marie Jannetta Saric is an emergency management and business continuity professional with Emergency Management Ontario. In her current position as Advisor, Paula-Marie provides guidance to provincial ministries in emergency management planning, plan evaluation/assessment, training, major exercises and a variety of collaborative initiatives. Paula-Marie is also a provincial instructor. Prior to joining EMO, Paula-Marie served Niagara Region EMO as Program Development Manager and designated C.E.M.C. (Alt.) for over 5 years as was instumental in advancing cross border emergency management in her role as Vice Co-Chair of the International Joint Committee. In 2011, Paula-Marie earned the certification in Professional in Critical Infrastructure Protection (PCIP) through the Critical Infrastructure Institute (CII) and works with public and private sector stakeholders in CI identification and risk assessment. Currently, pursuing higher education in emergency management, Paula-Marie is focused on building community disaster resilience through public-private sector collaboration. Paula-Marie is a proud former member of the Canadian Red Cross Disaster Response Team (2002-2008) and past Vice-Chair of the OAEM Professional Development Working Group (2003-2005).

- I have for many years worked as a Paramedic all across the country, in several capacities, which has led me towards research and work in emergency management, disaster preparedness and mitigation, and an eye towards expanding and overlapping these areas. I have seen how often communities, individuals, and organizations learn the hard way, or more often than not don't learn but repeat the mistakes of others. The lessons are not complex, but they are fundamental and I truly wish to become involved in processes which improve social resilience in the face of change. Now if only I could find a way of paying the bills at the same time...

- Working 19 years in the manufacturing sector as well as 11 years as a volunteer Firefighter has provided Kevin with an insight to many areas of Emergency Management. This profession facinates Kevin and allows him to put effort towards helping neighbours everyday. Kevin has been employed by the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville since March of 2009 as Health, Safety, Emergency Planning and Accessibility Coordinator. He is also involved with Junior A Hockey in his community as a Billet and a fan.

- Grey Burkart is a new practitioner and student of Emergency Management and Business Continuity in a self-study programme mentored by Bill MacKay (MacKay Emergency Management Consulting, Inc.). Projects with MEMCI include an analysis paper on the CSA Z1600 / NFPA 1600 Standards. He is currently developing a business continuity programme for a small software development company and overseeing a small network of microenterprises. Grey graduated from Mount Allison University with a bachelors in International Relations (2006).
- As a Registered Professional Forester (RPF) I began my career, with Alberta Sustainable Resource Development, in wildfire management as a wildland fire fighter within Alberta's Initial Attack Program (Helitak). From there a Wildfire Ranger with a focus in wildfire prevention initiatives, engaging and working with communities to reduce the risk of wildfire losses and to enhance safety in the wildland-urban interface through building and implementing Community Wildfire Protection Plans. That experience led me to the Provincial Forest Fire Centre to work within Alberta's FireSmart Program as the Wildfire Community Protection Specialist and currently the FireSmart Program Coordinator.Past President of Partners In Protection, a registered not-for-profit association with a multidisciplinary membership representing national, provincial and municipal associations and government agencies responsible for providing emergency services in a wildfire event. The association is committed to raising awareness, providing information and developing forums to address common problems that encourage community-based initiatives to reduce the risk of fire losses and enhance safety in the wildland-urban interface.Partners In Protection is most recognized for its symposiums and published work; most notably the publication 'FireSmart - Protecting Your Community from Wildfire', widely considered to be the preferred standard for community wildfire protection in Canada today.Recently accepted a Director's position with the International Association of Wildland Fire.
- My Emergency Management career began while working for the chemical industry. That is where I had the pleasure of participating in the Partnership Towards Safer Communities program with neighbouring industries and the Township of Woolwich. My Emergency Response career started as a volunteer fire fighter with the Woolwich Township Fire Department in St. Jacobs.Since then, I have been the Emergency Manager for the County of Perth since September 2005; building a comprehensive emergency management program from the grass roots. It has been a very satisfying experience.Currently I sit on the OAEM Board of Directors as the Secretary, and am responsible for the Communications portfolio as Chair.
