Discussion between PTSC-Online and Murielle Prevost with the Cape Breton University - Emergency Management Program are focusing on how how PTSC-Online and other social and professional networking can better prepare Cape Breton University emergency management program students to enter the emergency management profession. As this program also involves mature students who are currently working as emergency managers it will address how on line networking can assist them in more effectively do their jobs.

FACT #1: Between 2010 and 2011, the global economic losses or damages due to natural disasters alone increased by US$ 254.4 billion in just one year - the highest on record ever!!

FACT #2: This trend will continue to rise.

A growing discipline committed to developing, implementing, maintaining and evaluating strategic management processes to prevent and mitigate, prepare for, respond to and recover from natural, technological or human conflict events. WE CAN DO THIS FOR YOU. Cape Breton University is the only one in Canada that offers a post-graduate bachelor emergency management degree entirely online and requires no more than 42 credits to complete - only seven, year-long (two academic semesters) courses in total.* Whereas other emergency management bachelor programs offered in Canada are 120 credits, you begin your studies at a fourth year level upon your acceptance into this program. Upon graduation, you will have acquired a comprehensive understanding of the emergency management discipline, including the many critical facets of prevention, mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery.
